(2) .—With respect to any contract entered into under paragraph (1) for the nuclear refueling and complex overhaul of a Nimitz class aircraft carrier, the Secretary may use incremental funding for a period not to exceed six years after advance procurement funds for such nuclear refueling and complex overhaul effort are first obligated.

(e) .— (1) The Director of Operational Test and Evaluation shall submit to the congressional defense committees a report that includes— (A) the results and findings of the initial operational test and evaluation of the F–35 aircraft program; and (B) a comparison test and evaluation that examines the capabilities of the F–35A and A–10C aircraft in conducting close air support, combat search and rescue, and forward air controller airborne missions.

.—The Secretary of the Navy may procure materiel and equipment in support of the construction of the Ford class aircraft carriers designated CVN–80 and CVN–81 in economic order quantities when cost savings are achievable. (2) Subsections (a) through (e) shall apply with respect to any A–10 aircraft affected by the transition described in paragraph (1).
